Karma was created on the idea that communities are very special and great food will always bring people together. When you visit us we want you to feel like you are in a friend's kitchen. The owner Chef Jenny Summers, originally from Southport North Carolina, has been in the hospitality industry for 35 years. For 20 years she worked Front of the House service and operations. During this time she worked food and beverage service and restaurant, cafe, and member's club management. Working for places like Bald Head Island North Carolina and Seabrook Island, managing restaurant opperations. Wanting to learn professional baking, she moved to New York and recieved her degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, where she was trained in European Style Baking. She then attended Le Cordon Bleu and Johnson and Wales Universities to recieve her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. Chef Jenny came to Morehead City to work for Carteret Community College, developing and instructing their Baking and Pastry Program for 6 years. She is now here tat Karma, to share her love for from scratch savory. Everything is made with love and is created to soothe your soul.
